Our Story
“Philly in the Woods” is a tribute to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – the historic city where I lived for twenty years and established my culinary roots. Local James Beard Award-winning Chef Jack McDavid and Baker Peter Reinhart were my mentors. Philly shaped my vision to serve sustainable foods with urban elegance and rural charm at a log farm cabin I built in Franklin County, North Carolina – where I have lived for over twenty-five years. Additionally, my Nonprofit and County were named to honor Benjamin Franklin – famous signator of the Declaration of Independence – who transformed life in Philadelphia at the time. All Dining and Entertainment Events held year-round at the Lynch Creek Farm Cabin are Fundraising Events that underwrite our Society Community Service Projects.

Located in a peaceful woodland setting at Lynch Creek Farm, each event blends the spirit of Philadelphia dining with the charm of rural North Carolina. Here, guests gather not just to eat, but to experience carefully curated meals with farm-to-table ingredients, and share a commitment to community service, the arts, and entertainment that can’t be found at traditional restaurants.

Loaves are crafted with care, tradition, and the finest ingredients and freshly baked using time-honored artisan techniques that bring out rich flavor and perfect texture. From rustic country loaves to soft brioche and golden baguettes, each bread is made to complement your dining experience.
Garden Salad / Soup
Fresh, Farm-to-Table enhanced Salads with homemade dressings or specialty Soups are plated separately or with our Main Course.
